Hey, I'm working on my BLOG. If there isn't much here yet it's because I'm hard at work on the new CD.
July 8th, 2007
More piano tracks, more rhodes tracks, kazoo, melodica - all that's
left is some of the vocals before I think about mixing this thing.
Played the Beachcomber in Milford with All-the-Above on Friday.
It was rocking. The place was packed with pr\eople dancing and
going crazy. I think we should get Wednesday off every week. It
would take us to the weekend so much faster.

Recorded a lot of piano tracks over the past few days. They are
starting to come out really good. I saw in the Connecticut Post
that Hy Zaret died. He wrote the lyrics to "Unchained Melody."
It was pretty much his only hit. He lived in Westport, CT where
I grew up and I had the chance to spend some time with him at
his house about 20 years ago. He gave me an album that included
his hit. Still have it. He was a pretty good guy. Lived off of
one hit for a lot of years. Good for him.
June, 2007
I began work on the album about 18 months ago. I wasn't really
sure it was a record or what but now that it's nearing completion
it's starting to come into focus. It wll be a little different
than my other records
for
a variety of reasons. I don't really want to give away the whole
thing, but I will say that this is a real solo album. I play all
the instruments on all the songs. Since I'm also the producer,
it meant that the musicians and the producer were always on the
same page. It also means when things were changed, both knew what
the other was thinking. It made scheduling recording sessions
a lot easier too.
I hear Paul McCartney played all the instruments on his new record. Of course he probably spent a couple of weeks on it while I'm doing it in a couple of years but that how it goes. I haven't had a new recording out in like seven years so it's not like this happens every day.
